What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey-o!
I've missed the last couple of WILW's and I was determined to do it this time! I've got class soon so this one is going to be pretty short! Here we go!

I'm loving- that my sweet love Steven and I had our 1 year "anniversary" on Monday (the quotations are because I don't think you have actual anniversaries until your married.) Anyway we've been together for a whole year and I couldn't be happier. He's such a sweetheart and does so much for me. I'm truly a very lucky girl. We decided since we're in college and all that we wouldn't do much. No gifts and we went out to dinner. It was really fun. There is a possibility that I made him a gift anyway. Nothing big, it was a cute idea though.  I made him a book of cards with 52 reasons why I loved him! (one for each week we've been together!) and since the traditional gift for a 1 year is paper gifts I thought it fit perfect! :)

I'm loving- that I've got less than a week left until Christmas break! I can't wait to see all my family and have a whole month off of school!

I'm loving-that when we do start next semester, I'm taking a few art classes! I've wanted to take some for awhile now and have had a full schedule. I'm almost done with school and I absolutely can not wait!

I'm loving- my roommates and I took a few Christmas pictures so we could make cards to send home to our families. It was so funny taking the pictures, none of us could stop laughing. :)

I'm loving- all of you! It means so much to me when you take time to comment and follow! :) Thanks so much for reading!

Link up and tell us what you are loving! :)

Five Question Friday

Five question Friday is here! :)) Link up here and enjoy!

1. What is your favorite Christmas decoration in your house?
It's a tie! :) I have my Up! ornament and another little snowman on our Christmas tree this year. I love them both! The movie Up! is soo good! and My little snowman just looks like he's having so much fun hangin' out on his snowflake.

2. Do you finish your Christmas shopping early or are you a last minute type?
Procrastination is my weakness in everything. School, work, and even shopping. I have so much left to buy it's gonna be difficult to fit all of it in! I brought home Christmas wrap yesterday and our neighbor thought that it was too early. So I guess I won't be the last shopper out there! :)

3. When do you turn on your heat?
Our heat goes on whenever we feel cold! I hate hate hate being cold. I hate it so much, that I have even been known to wear layers in the middle of the summer. So we really don't go by a certain day/ degree. Just whenever we're feelin' it.

4. Do you ever wish your blog was private?
Sometimes, yes. Sometimes it would be nice to just be able to write and not worry about who is going to see it. But I think that they have other websites out there for that or journals at least. So I'll stick with my public ramblings :)

5. Do you put your deodorant on before of after you put on your shirt?
Always after! Deodorant lines can mess up your entire outfit and if your like me and sleep until the very last minute, you don't have much time for outfit malfunctions!

Keeping the Faith..

Lately, I've had some issues with school, work, and just everyday stress that are really getting to me. I'm not exactly pleased how far I've still got to go in school, and I just wish I was further in life. But hey, what can you do? Everyone has setbacks and it's just something we've got to learn to work around. I thought I'd post a few quotes and pictures that help me feel better when I'm down. I hope they help you too.

I love this quote. It always makes me feel so much better about school. Its so hard for me to decide on one thing to do the rest of my life, when I love so many things. So I'm doing a bunch of things that are taking a lot longer than expected.

Remember what is most important…
It’s not having everything go right;
it’s facing whatever goes wrong.
It’s not being without fear;
it’s having the determination
to go on in spite of it.
Remember that every day ends
and brings a new tomorrow.
Love what you do,
do the best you can,
and always remember
how much you are loved.

There is a lot of pictures but these always make me smile. :) Enjoy lovelies.

Playing Catch Up!

Hello lovelies! It's been pretty crazy around here with birthdays, holidays, work, and school. So I'm going to let you guys in on what I've been up to!

On Monday, My college family had our Thanksgiving dinner before everyone went home. It was great there was so much food! We all cooked and then watched the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I love spending time all together it's great!

I have spent a lot of time with my family in the last week. I got to go home and see some of my old friends who I miss a ton! It was good seeing everyone. We had a great Thanksgiving! It was pretty small this year, but it was still fun. Lots of food, that's for sure! :)
I love home. It's so beautiful.

One of the best perks of going home...my mom does my laundry! yay for clean clothes! :)

These are two of my cousins, Jess and Dust, they're pretty much like my brother and sister. Love them soo much and I was SO happy to see them. :)

I've been keeping myself busy in the last week making a few decorations for my house! Christmas is coming up so I made a wreath. I also made a book clock that I've been wanting to make for my room for a really long time.
You can see how to make your own ornament wreath *here*
Check out my instructions on how to make your own book clock *here*

My cousin's birthday was yesterday and my brothers is this Wednesday. My family all got together to celebrate Sarah's but I had to work so I couldn't make it. My brother will be celebrating in a few days and I hope that I can go! He's 25! :)

Happy Birthday to these lovelies! :)

Starting today I have almost an entire week off of work! I'm so excited. Hopefully I'll get ahead in school and finish the rest of my classes so I don't have to worry about them anymore! :)

Also, today Steven comes home! :) He went home for the weekend to see his family for Thanksgiving and he's on his way home now! I can't wait to see him!

Thanks for Reading! :))

The Ornament Wreath

I got a great idea from Eddie Ross, an ornament wreath! Here is the instructions on how to make one yourself!

Supplies:
Ornaments (approximately 75)
Glue
Wire Hanger
Ribbon.

Start by taking making your wire hanger in the form of a circle.

Then, I glued the tops of the ornaments on the balls so they wouldn't fall of while I was putting them on.
Next you untwist the top and string on the ornaments until it is completely full. I alternated sizes so that they fit in different ways.
Finally, you tie on a bow to hang your wreath with. I need a little practice on making bows because mine is not the best!

My bow is a little off center and I think I'll change it. I just took a quick picture to show all of you! :)

The Book Clock Tutorial.

Hey everyone!
I thought I'd put up the tutorial for my book clock in case some of you want to make your own! Here we go.

First you need:
Book.
Clock Movement.
Exacto Knife.
Glue.

First you start by using the knife to cut a hole in inside of the pages so the back of the movement will sit flat.

Then you figure out where the hole will be so your hands will fit on the outside of the cover. Put a small hole to get the hands through. I put some paper over the hole to make it look nicer and add a little decoration.

Finally, Twist on your hands and then your set! :) You can add numbers or decorate it any way you want! :)

Have fun! :)

Five Question Friday!

I found a new fun thing to try called Five Question Friday! Link up HERE for a new five questions every Friday! :)

Questions for Friday, November 18th:

1. Do you have a go to song that always puts you in a good mood?
-I have so many! Jack Johnson always puts me in a good mood, especially the songs Banana Pancakes and Upside Down. love them both! Also I really like listening to a song called L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N by Noah and The Whale. :)) Check them out below!

2. Are you a real Christmas tree kinda person or do you go with a real fake one?
-We have always had a fake one, but I love the smell of real ones. They're just sooo hard to take care of and they're really messy. So I'd have to say I'm a fake tree person as long as there is a Christmas Tree Yankee candle lit somewhere :).
Ps. by fake I mean a fake one that looks real. I really don't care for aluminium trees all that much.

3. What are you thankful for?
-Everything. My life, My family, My friends, Steven. I have so many things that I am thankful for. I have a steady job and am learning to be independent thanks to my wonderful parents. I'm healthy and have a car that gets me places and live in a wonderful place...the list could go on forever.

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?
-Hippie headbands! :) I totally love them and once in a while I'll wear them but sometimes I don't feel adventurous enough! I wish my hair was longer so that I could pull them off a little bit better!

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?
-Yep I'm notorious for that! It's horrible to say too, that I do it all the time. I've never ran out of gas (knock on wood). And I drive with my low fuel light on for like ten miles. I feel bad for my little car. Its a habit I really need to break.

speaking of, I think I should probably go get some gas huh...

Happy Friday to you all!

Loves

Link up!
Today was kind of a dreary day so it feels good to think of things that I love!

I love- being outside. I've been stuck inside for the last two days since I got my wisdom teeth taken out a few days ago. People tend to look at you weird when you've got chipmunk cheeks. Thankfully they aren't too swollen so it's not that bad! Also, it snowed today so my days outside are going to be limited. :(

I love- traditions. Steven and I went to the bar for our lovely Wednesday tradition. We won a whopping $2 this time! :)

I love- that Thanksgiving is almost here. I can't wait to go home and see my family! I also looove Black Friday shopping.

I love- the thought of traveling. I'm getting pretty tired of being in the same place and I'm ready to get out of here.

I love- that my sweet friend Nicolette came home to visit for a couple days. She's moving to Colorado soon and I'm going to miss her very much!

I love- Steven :). He's been very helpful since I got my wisdom teeth taken out (I'm kind of a baby). But anyway, I don't know what I'd do without him.

^ cute right? ;)

Notice that cheesy beard? Thanks a bunch no-shave November!
